We held a barbecue for our guests; some had just completed the Big Sur International Marathon. The marathon was 26.2 miles and runners were treated to cool, pleasant weather. Amazing job!
This Cultural Kitchens event focused on Cambodia. In addition to our Cambodian-themed potluck, guests were able to view a presentation and participate in a discussion led by Dr. Kathryn Poethig, a professor at CSU Monterey Bay. This event focused on Dhammayietra: the peace walk conducted by Cambodian Buddhist monks from 1993-2000 that crossed in to conflict zones in an effort to extinguish the "flame of war".
Thank you for sharing your experience and insight, Dr. Poethig! |
